DUTTON RANCH Renewed For Season 2 Following Record-Breaking Paramount+ Debut

The Dutton family isn’t going anywhere.

Paramount+ has officially renewed DUTTON RANCH for a second season following the massive success of its debut season. Starring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, the Yellowstone spinoff has quickly become one of the streaming service’s biggest hits, setting multiple viewership records and proving that audiences still can’t get enough of Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler.

The renewal comes just weeks after the series premiered and ahead of the highly anticipated Season 1 finale, which arrives on Friday, July 3.

DUTTON RANCH Becomes Paramount+’s Biggest Original Series Launch

Since its May 15 debut, DUTTON RANCH has delivered impressive numbers across both streaming and traditional television.

The series amassed 12.9 million global viewers in the seven days following its premiere, making it the biggest Original Series launch in Paramount+ history. The show’s success extended beyond streaming as well, with its two-episode premiere drawing 2.9 million total viewers on Paramount Network and becoming the biggest cable series premiere since 2023.

The premiere telecast alone attracted 1.85 million viewers, ranking as the top cable entertainment telecast among adults 18-49 and total viewers.

Adding to its impressive launch, DUTTON RANCH also claimed the title of the #1 streaming series according to Nielsen based on average audience during the week of May 11.

Fans Have Embraced Beth And Rip’s New Chapter

The series follows Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler as they attempt to build a new life together far from Montana. However, leaving Yellowstone behind doesn’t mean escaping danger.

Season 1 finds the couple facing brutal challenges in South Texas, where powerful ranching interests, old rivalries, and dangerous enemies threaten everything they’re trying to build. The series has successfully expanded the Yellowstone universe while allowing Beth and Rip’s relationship to take center stage in a fresh setting.

Fans have responded enthusiastically, helping the show generate 99 million video views and more than 2 million social media engagements during its first three days. According to Paramount+, it became the platform’s most successful premiere across its owned social channels.

Paramount+ Celebrates The Success

“Beth and Rip are among the most iconic duos in television history and we are thrilled to bring a whole new world to life with Dutton Ranch for our subscribers around the world,” said Jane Wiseman, Head of Originals for Paramount+.

Matt Thunell, President of Paramount Television Studios, added that the series has successfully honored the legacy of the characters while establishing its own identity within the Yellowstone universe.

The early Season 2 renewal reflects Paramount’s confidence in the series and its continued ability to attract viewers across multiple platforms.

Final Thoughts

Few shows have arrived with as much momentum as DUTTON RANCH. Between record-breaking viewership numbers, strong critical reception, and passionate fan engagement, the renewal was never really in doubt.

The nine-episode first season is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, the studios that brought you Yellowstone.

Season one, from executive producer and showrunner Chad Feehan, was based on characters created by executive producers Taylor Sheridan and John Linson. Dutton Ranch is also executive produced by David C. Glasser, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly, and Keith Cox.
