Brad Pitt’s Cliff Booth officially has another adventure — or, more accurately, a mis-adventure — ahead of him.
Netflix has revealed The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth as the official title of David Fincher‘s upcoming film, which brings Pitt back to the Academy Award-winning role he originated in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
This time, however, Fincher is behind the camera while Tarantino wrote the screenplay, creating one of the more intriguing filmmaker combinations headed to screens this year.
And audiences won’t have to wait until the film reaches Netflix to see it. The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth will open globally in IMAX theaters November 25, 2026, for an exclusive two-week theatrical run before making its streaming debut on Netflix December 23.
Brad Pitt Returns As Cliff Booth In 1977
The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth jumps ahead eight years from the 1969 setting of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, catching up with Pitt’s character in 1977.
Netflix isn’t revealing much about what Cliff is doing yet, only teasing that both Hollywood and the character’s world have changed considerably.
Pitt won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as Cliff in Tarantino’s 2019 film. Bringing the character back without Tarantino directing immediately makes the new film an unusual extension of that world.
Fincher and Pitt, of course, have their own substantial history together.
The pair previously collaborated on Se7en, Fight Club and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth marks their first feature together since Benjamin Button in 2008.
Who Stars In The Further Mis-Adventures Of Cliff Booth?
Pitt isn’t making the trip back to 1970s Hollywood alone.
Netflix has confirmed an ensemble that includes Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Peter Weller, Matt Groove, JB Tadena, Corey Fogelmanis and Karren Karagulian.
Character details remain under wraps, leaving the exact roles those actors will play — and how they connect to Cliff — as some of the film’s biggest unanswered questions.
Pitt and Ceán Chaffin produce the film.
Fincher has also reunited with several longtime collaborators behind the camera, including cinematographer Erik Messerschmidt, production designer Donald Graham Burt, editor Kirk Baxter, casting director Laray Mayfield, costume designer Trish Summerville and sound designer Ren Klyce.

Netflix is giving the movie a significant theatrical showcase before it begins streaming.
The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth opens exclusively in IMAX globally on November 25, 2026.
That run will last two weeks.
The film then arrives on Netflix December 23, 2026, putting the Fincher/Pitt reunion directly into the holiday movie window.
The combination of Pitt returning to an Oscar-winning character, Fincher directing a Tarantino screenplay and an exclusive global IMAX window already made this one of Netflix’s biggest movies of 2026.
Now it finally has a name.
