Adults is back for Season 2, and Paul Baker has some explaining to do.
FX has released photos from Adults Season 2 Episode 1, “The Scrub,” which premieres Thursday, August 27 and finds the housemates uncovering a long-kept secret belonging to Paul Baker (Jack Innanen).
Season 2 reunites Malik Elassal as Samir, Lucy Freyer as Billie, Jack Innanen as Paul Baker, Amita Rao as Issa and Owen Thiele as Anton, the five twenty-somethings continuing to navigate love, work, friendship and family while living together in Samir’s childhood home.
Created by Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw, the FX ensemble comedy returns with eight new episodes as the friends encounter another collection of problems they’re not particularly equipped to solve.
Season 2 finds the housemates wrestling with everything from discovering that the 20-year-old who inherited your fake ID might be cooler than you ever were to admitting you actually enjoy your boring office job. Family can still reduce otherwise functioning adults to their worst selves, while changing a relationship becomes considerably harder when everyone involved desperately wants things to stay the same.
Their solutions tend to involve elaborate workarounds, questionable group strategy and considerable effort spent avoiding conversations they probably should have had in the first place.
But through all the mistakes, Adults remains centered on the one thing this group consistently gets right: showing up for each other.
“The Scrub” is written by Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw and directed by Jonathan Krisel.

When Does Adults Season 2 Premiere?
Adults Season 2 premieres Thursday, August 27 on FXX, with the season also available through Hulu. The first two episodes, “The Scrub” and “Fake ID,” launch the new season.
