Netflix’s Top 10 this week has two new English-language chart leaders: Animals, starring Ben Affleck and Kerry Washington, and Below, led by Josh Hartnett, Mackenzie Davis and Charlie Heaton. Florence Pugh’s East of Eden also builds on its debut, nearly doubling its weekly views even as it moves to second place.
The latest published global rankings cover October 5–11, 2026. These are weekly results, rather than Netflix’s daily U.S. rankings. As in our previous Top 10 roundup, the ten titles below are editorial highlights drawn from Netflix’s four separate movie and television charts. Their numbered sections are a reading order, not a combined Netflix ranking.

1. Animals
23.8 million views | No. 1 English-language movie
Animals opens at the top of the movie chart. Affleck directs, co-writes and stars as a Los Angeles mayoral candidate whose son is kidnapped. Washington plays his wife, with Steven Yeun and Gillian Anderson among the people caught in the resulting crisis.
The premise puts political image-making under the pressure of a family emergency. For a closer look without the ending spoiled, read Seat42F’s Animals review.
2. Below
17 million views | No. 1 English-language show
Below arrives in first place with a coastal mystery built around an ominous threat from the sea. Hartnett plays a fisherman trying to protect his Newfoundland community, while Davis plays a marine researcher and Heaton plays his son.
The limited series gives viewers a new suspense option alongside the crime dramas already appearing on the charts. Netflix identifies its opening as the most-viewed debut for a Canadian Netflix title.
3. East of Eden
12.6 million views | No. 2 English-language show
East of Eden moves from first to second place, but that change in rank disguises a substantial audience increase. Its weekly views rise from 6.5 million to 12.6 million, an increase of approximately 94% calculated from Netflix’s rounded figures.
Pugh stars as Cathy Ames alongside Christopher Abbott and Mike Faist in the adaptation of John Steinbeck’s family saga. Read our East of Eden review for more on the performances and the series’ approach to its source material.
4. Tyler Perry’s Doing Life
18.2 million views | No. 2 English-language movie
Doing Life also gains viewers while the top spot changes hands. Its 18.2 million views are up from 9.3 million in the previous reporting period.
Naomi Baker, Jay Reeves and Tamberla Perry star in a drama about a single mother and an incarcerated man who develop a relationship through letters. Its focus on connection and second chances offers a different kind of tension from the kidnapping story leading the movie list.
5. Ice Age
11.2 million views | No. 3 English-language movie
Ice Age leads a particularly busy week for the animated franchise. Five films occupy places on the English-language movie chart: the original, Collision Course, Dawn of the Dinosaurs, The Meltdown and Continental Drift.
Together, they account for half the chart’s available slots. That concentration makes familiar family viewing one of the week’s most visible patterns alongside the new thriller at No. 1.
6. Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 1
4.1 million views | No. 3 English-language show
The first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians enters the television chart in third place. Walker Scobell, Leah Sava’ Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri lead the fantasy adventure about a young demigod and his friends navigating a world of gods and monsters.
The ranking belongs specifically to Season 1. A global Netflix chart appearance should not be read as confirmation that a title has joined every country’s Netflix catalog.
7. Doctor X: Mafia in White
4.6 million views | No. 1 non-English-language show
Doctor X: Mafia in White takes the lead among non-English-language shows. Kim Ji-won stars alongside Lee Jung-eun and Son Hyun-joo in the Korean medical drama.
Its central surgeon brings extraordinary ability to a hospital shaped by hierarchy and corruption. Difficult cases and institutional opposition make it a separate option for viewers seeking workplace conflict beyond this week’s English-language leaders.
8. Acid
3.5 million views | No. 1 non-English-language movie
Acid leads the non-English-language movie chart, ahead of Crazy Rich, Incredibly Broke at 3.2 million views. Keeping this category in the roundup provides a broader picture of Netflix’s global audience than the English-language lists alone.
9. UNABOMBER
7.3 million views | No. 7 English-language movie
After leading last week’s movie chart, UNABOMBER remains in the Top 10. Jacob Tremblay portrays Ted Kaczynski, with Russell Crowe and Shailene Woodley also starring in the dramatized account.
Its move to seventh comes during a week when the five Ice Age films and Animals occupy much of the list. The chart now offers a markedly different mix from the previous crime-heavy leading positions.
10. Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story
3 million views | No. 5 English-language show
Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story remains on the television chart in its fourth week. Ella Beatty leads the period crime drama, which continues to give true-crime viewers a prominent option alongside the newer arrivals.
Our Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story review considers its performances and treatment of the case without turning this roundup into a recap.
What Should You Watch on Netflix This Week?
For a movie-length thriller, Animals is the new chart leader to investigate. Below offers a limited-series mystery, while East of Eden remains an option for viewers drawn to a sprawling family drama. The Ice Age films and Percy Jackson supply family and fantasy alternatives, depending on regional availability.
Netflix measures views by dividing hours watched by runtime; the figures are not counts of unique people. See the complete global movie rankings and global television rankings for the full charts. Availability varies by country.
