Prime Video returned to San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H in spectacular fashion, giving The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power fans plenty to celebrate.
Showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay were joined by cast members Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Owain Arthur, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Charlie Vickers, Daniel Weyman, and newcomer Jamie Campbell Bower for a panel packed with exclusive reveals, surprise guests, and the debut of an all-new Season 3 teaser trailer.
Prime Video also confirmed that Season 3 premieres November 11, 2026, with the first four episodes arriving on launch day.

Season 3 Premieres November 11
Prime Video confirmed a staggered release schedule for the upcoming season.
- November 11: Episodes 301-304
- November 18: Episodes 305-306
- November 25: Episodes 307-308 (Season Finale)
Middle-earth Is Headed for War
Season 3 jumps ahead five years following the fall of Eregion.
Sauron’s armies have swept across Middle-earth, leaving only a handful of strongholds standing against the Dark Lord. Khazad-dûm remains sealed beneath the mountains, while Lindon and Rivendell continue resisting thanks to the power of the Three Elven Rings.
Meanwhile, inside the newly completed Barad-dûr, Sauron is consumed with forging the One Ring—an act that threatens to bring every free people of Middle-earth under his control.
The teaser promises larger battles, darker storytelling, and uneasy alliances as Elves, Dwarves, Men, and Wizards unite for what may be their last chance to stop Sauron.
New Characters Join the Adventure
Prime Video also unveiled several new characters making their debut in Season 3.
New cast additions include:
- Eddie Marsan as Thrain, King Durin IV’s older brother
- Andrew Richardson as Anárion, Elendil’s younger son and Isildur’s brother
- Adam Young as Marnûkh, a mysterious Orc with secrets of his own
The panel also highlighted previously announced additions, including Jamie Campbell Bower as Celeborn, Galadriel’s long-lost husband, and Zubin Varla as Khamûl the Easterling.
Simon Pegg Voices the Balrog
One of the biggest surprises came during an exclusive behind-the-scenes featurette showcasing Season 3’s creatures.
Fans learned that the Balrog will speak for the first time in the series—and its voice belongs to Simon Pegg.
The featurette also previewed several creatures returning or debuting this season, including Fell-beasts, Mûmakil, and new varieties of Orcs.
Hall H Gets an Unexpected Visitor
As if the announcements weren’t enough, the panel itself was interrupted by four imposing Nazgnagôl entering Hall H in full armor.
Introduced in Season 3, the Nazgnagôl serve Sauron during the Second Age and represent an earlier incarnation of the Ring-servants who eventually become the feared Nazgûl of The Lord of the Rings.
It was one of Comic-Con’s most memorable live moments and gave fans an unforgettable preview of the darkness awaiting Middle-earth.
The Battle for Middle-earth Continues
With its biggest time jump yet, a darker tone, and Sauron’s quest to forge the One Ring now fully underway, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power appears ready to raise the stakes in every way imaginable.
The new teaser suggests that no kingdom will remain untouched as the battle for Middle-earth enters its most dangerous chapter yet.
