The Cinema Pride Collection Title Synopses:

The Children’s Hour (1961) A private school for young girls is scandalized when one spiteful student, Mary Tilford (Karen Balkin), accuses Karen Wright (Audrey Hepburn) and Martha Dobie (Shirley MacLaine), the two young women who run the school, of having a questionable relationship.

La Cage Aux Folles (1978) Two gay men living in St. Tropez have their lives turned upside down when Laurent Baldi (Re?mi Laurent), the son of one of the men, announces he is getting married.

My Beautiful Laundrette (1986) An ambitious Asian Briton and his white lover (Daniel Day-Lewis) strive for success and hope, when they open up a glamorous laundromat.

The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert: The Extra Frills Edition (1994) With a contract to perform a drag show way out in the Australian desert, Bernadette (Terrence Stamp), Tick (Hugo Weaving) and Adam (Guy Pearce) each have a personal reason for wanting to leave the safety of Sydney. Christening their battered tour bus “Priscilla,” these wickedly funny drama queens head for the outback…where their spectacular adventures are more than matched by their spectacular outfits.

The Birdcage (1996) Lies and deception–it’s all in the family when Armand (Robin Williams) must convince his future in-laws that he’s as upstanding and uptight as they are in “the funniest comedy you’ll see this year” (Gene Shalit, “Today Show”). Co-starring Gene Hackman, Nathan Lane, Dianne Wiest, Christine Baranski and Calista Flockhart and Hank Azaria.

Bent (1997) Renowned British stage director Sean Mathias directs Martin Sherman’s “powerful and provocative” (The New York Times) screenplay about one man’s struggle (Clive Owen) to maintain his dignity while imprisoned in a Nazi concentration camp. Co-starring Ian McKellen and Jude Law.

The Object of My Affection (1998) Jennifer Aniston stars in this sly romantic comedy as Nina, a young woman who falls in love with her new roommate, George, (Paul Rudd) even though he’s gay and loves her purely as a friend.

Boys Don’t Cry (1999) The story of the life of Brandon Teena, a transgendered teen who preferred life in a male identity until it was discovered he was born biologically female. Starring two-time Oscar® winner Hilary Swank (Boys Don’t Cry, Million Dollar Baby). Co-starring Golden Globe winner Chloe Sevigny (“Big Love”) and Peter Sarsgaard (An Education).

Kissing Jessica Stein (2001) Fed up with her fruitless search for “Mr. Right” and tired of blind dates from hell, attractive journalist Jessica Stein (Jennifer Westdfeldt) whimsically responds to a classified ad – from Helen! Making and breaking new rules of dating as they go, the two women muddle through an earnest but hilarious courtship that blurs the lines between friendship and romantic love in this “smashing romantic comedy” (Rolling Stone).

Imagine Me & You (2005) Piper Perabo lights up the screen as Rachel, a blushing bride whose perfect nuptials take a surprising turn at the altar. An innocent glance between Rachel and an unexpected wedding guest (Lena Headey) is all it takes to spark a ‘love at first sight’ romance with a surprising twist — the object of Rachel’s affection is a smart and sensuous… woman! Co-stars Matthew Goode (A Single Man, Leap Year).

This season, Will meets
Lisa – and before you can say “Go slow, bro,” he’s in love, engaged and
standing before the minister with 50 pounds of iced shrimp melting in
the banquet hall. All that romance must be contagious, because Carlton
finds his soul sister through online dating. (Unfortunately, that’s
only half right. It’s Hilary.) And there’s a lot more than love going
on as Will grapples with a big orange whale, a mobster, a bear, Jay
Leno, Lisa’s cantankerous dad and in one of the series’ most memorable
episodes, a bullet with his name on it. With this 4-disc set, you are
cordially invited to all 25 laugh-out-loud, love-happy Season 5
Episodes of the hit, hilarious show that gave sitcoms street smarts.
