Netflix has unveiled the Stranger Things Season 5 trailer, giving fans their first full look at the highly anticipated final season of the hit sci-fi series. The Hawkins crew reunites to face their darkest challenge yet, as Vecna returns and the town falls under military quarantine in a story that pushes the limits of emotion, horror, and heroism. Stranger Things Season 5, Volume 1 premieres November 26 exclusively on Netflix.

Series co-creator Ross Duffer told Tudum, “This season starts in chaos because our heroes ultimately lost at the end of Season 4. Normally, we begin with their normal lives before the supernatural elements arrive, but this time, it’s sprinting from the start.” His brother and co-creator Matt Duffer added, “Nothing in Hawkins is normal anymore. There are Big Brother cameras everywhere — even their everyday lives are anything but.”

Set in the fall of 1987Stranger Things 5 finds Eleven and her friends united once again, determined to hunt down and destroy Vecna. But Vecna’s whereabouts are unknown, the government has intensified its search for Eleven, and Hawkins remains locked down in fear. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance looms, a new darkness threatens everything they hold dear.

Executive producer Shawn Levy, who directed two episodes of the new season, promises an epic conclusion: “The action is next level, the visual effects are next level, but the emotional center remains the same.”
