FX’s global hit drama Shōgun is expanding its world for Season 2, with five new cast members joining the Emmy®-winning series as production gets underway in Vancouver.
The upcoming season, set more than a decade after the events of Season 1, continues the sweeping, historically inspired story of two men from vastly different worlds whose destinies remain deeply intertwined.
Joining the cast for Season 2 are Risei Kukihara (“Gabriel”), Ryô Satô (“Rin”), Seishiro Nishida (“Jōshin”), Mantaro Koichi (“Saitō”), and Takashi Yamaguchi (“Kanō”), bringing a mix of rising talent and seasoned performers to the acclaimed drama.
They join a returning ensemble that includes Emmy® winner Hiroyuki Sanada, Cosmo Jarvis, Fumi Nikaidô, Ren Meguro, and more, continuing the story following the power-shifting events of the first season.
Casting for Season 2 is once again led by Kei Kawamura and Laura Schiff, whose work on the first season earned an Emmy Award for Outstanding Casting in a Drama Series.
