Paramount+ is loading up September with major returning series, new originals, movies and live events, led by the long-awaited return of one of the streamer’s biggest crime dramas.
MobLand Season 2 premieres September 18, bringing Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren back for another chapter of Guy Ritchie’s crime saga. After the power struggles and betrayals that drove the first season, the new episodes put the Harrigan empire back at the center of the action as the battle for control continues.
That’s far from the only major return on the September schedule.
South Park begins Season 29 on Comedy Central September 16, with new episodes available to stream the following day on Paramount+ in the U.S., while Scary Movie 6 makes its streaming debut September 3 with an exclusive extended cut.
New Paramount+ Originals Arrive in September
September also brings several new series to Paramount+.
The Varnell Hill Show premieres September 1, with Tommy Davidson reprising the character he first played on Martin for a new workplace comedy. The family-friendly superhero movie Clash of the Thundermans follows September 3.
Later in the month, Tyler Perry’s Route 187 premieres September 16. The limited series follows a journalist investigating a series of murders as she begins to suspect an undetected serial killer may be responsible.
That same day brings Golden Axe, the new animated adaptation of Sega’s classic video game franchise.
Colin From Accounts returns for its final season September 10, while BET Studios drama Sacrifice begins Season 2 on September 30.
September Is a Big Month for Paramount+ Franchises
Several established Paramount brands will also have a major presence throughout the month.
Star Trek celebrates its 60th anniversary September 8, giving subscribers an opportunity to revisit six decades of the franchise through Paramount+’s Star Trek Collection.
Movie fans will also be able to revisit the Rocky films when the boxing franchise joins the service, while Paramount+ will refresh its One Mountain, Una Familia collection in recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month.
Sports will remain a significant part of the service throughout September, with NFL ON CBS, college football, UEFA soccer, UFC and additional live events joining the entertainment lineup.
