Jonathan Bailey has officially wrapped filming on his next Netflix movie.
The Wicked and Bridgerton star has completed work on director John Lee Hancock’s upcoming courtroom drama about the landmark Johnson v. Monsanto trial — and Bailey has confirmed that the still-untitled film is coming to Netflix in 2027.
Bailey stars as real-life attorney Brent Wisner, who represented school groundskeeper Dewayne “Lee” Johnson in his groundbreaking lawsuit against chemical company Monsanto.
He leads an impressive ensemble that includes Laura Dern, LaKeith Stanfield, David Duchovny and Greg Kinnear.

Bailey announced the end of filming on August 24, sharing a photo alongside director John Lee Hancock and celebrating the cast, crew and story behind the project.
The actor also revealed one important new detail: the movie is expected to arrive in 2027.

Production began earlier this summer on the courtroom drama, which dramatizes the real-life legal battle between Dewayne Johnson and Monsanto.
Who Does Jonathan Bailey Play?
Bailey plays Brent Wisner, the young attorney who takes on the enormous task of representing Johnson against Monsanto.
Johnson worked as a groundskeeper and used Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide as part of his job. After developing non-Hodgkin lymphoma, he alleged that exposure to Roundup caused his cancer and that Monsanto failed to adequately warn users about its potential risks.
Wisner and the legal team took Johnson’s case to trial in 2018 in what became the first Roundup cancer lawsuit to reach a jury.
The resulting courtroom battle became a landmark case and brought enormous public attention to Monsanto, Roundup and questions surrounding corporate responsibility.

His lawsuit against Monsanto became much larger than one man’s case. The trial drew international attention and helped open the door to thousands of additional claims involving Roundup.
For the movie, that gives Bailey and Stanfield the two central roles in a classic courtroom underdog story: an individual and his attorney taking on one of the world’s most powerful chemical companies.
Laura Dern Stars as a Monsanto Toxicologist
Laura Dern plays Dr. Melinda Rogers, Monsanto’s chief toxicologist.
Rogers testifies during the trial that Roundup is safe, placing Dern’s character on the opposite side of the courtroom battle from Wisner and Johnson.
The role also reunites Dern with Hancock after their previous work together.
Dern won an Academy Award for her performance in Marriage Story and has appeared in everything from Jurassic Park and Big Little Lies to Netflix’s Lonely Planet.
