HBO is giving Harry Potter fans another look at its return to Hogwarts.
The network has released the official second teaser for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the highly anticipated first season of its new Harry Potter television series. The eight-episode season will premiere Christmas 2026 on HBO and will also be available to stream on HBO Max.
The new footage arrives less than four months before audiences return to Hogwarts and offers another look at HBO’s ambitious television adaptation of the first Harry Potter novel.
Dominic McLaughlin leads the new generation of Hogwarts students as Harry Potter, alongside Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.
Harry Potter Returns To Hogwarts This Christmas
The first season will retell Harry’s introduction to the wizarding world, beginning with his life with the Dursleys and the mysterious Hogwarts letters that reveal there is considerably more to the young wizard than he has been led to believe.
His arrival at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry introduces Harry to Ron and Hermione and opens an entirely new world of magic, friendship and adventure. But his first year at Hogwarts also begins uncovering secrets connected to the darkest wizard in the magical world.
The television format gives HBO considerably more time to explore the events and characters of the original novel than was possible in the 2001 feature film.
Alongside McLaughlin, Stanton and Stout, the first season features John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid.
Warwick Davis will play Filius Flitwick, while Rory Wilmot plays Neville Longbottom, Lox Pratt plays Draco Malfoy, Leo Earley plays Seamus Finnigan and Elijah Oshin plays Dean Thomas.
The Weasley family also includes Tristan Harland as Fred Weasley, Gabriel Harland as George Weasley, Ruari Spooner as Percy Weasley, Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley and Gracie Cochrane as Ginny Weasley.

The expanding ensemble includes Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley, Bel Powley as Petunia Dursley and Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley.
Johnny Flynn plays Lucius Malfoy, Bertie Carvel plays Cornelius Fudge, Luke Thallon plays Quirinus Quirrell, Sirine Saba plays Pomona Sprout and Paul Whitehouse plays Argus Filch.
Additional cast members include Richard Durden as Cuthbert Binns, Louise Brealey as Rolanda Hooch, Bríd Brennan as Poppy Pomfrey, Leigh Gill as Griphook and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander.
The series is written and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner, with Mark Mylod executive producing and directing multiple episodes. The HBO series is produced in association with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television.
