FBI returns for Season 9 this October with a deadly new investigation and some major changes for Maggie Bell and OA Zidan.
CBS has released photos from FBI Season 9 Episode 1, “Rendition,” premiering Monday, October 5 at 8:00 PM ET/PT. Missy Peregrym returns as Special Agent Maggie Bell, who begins the season adjusting to a new partner, Isaiah Green, played by Roland Buck III.
The Season 9 premiere begins when a young traveler is found shot to death in a state park. As the team investigates, they discover the victim witnessed the execution of someone connected to a top-secret government-sponsored project.
That revelation transforms the murder investigation into a much larger case as the FBI team works to determine exactly what the victim saw and why someone was willing to kill to keep it secret.
Maggie Gets A New Partner In The FBI Season 9 Premiere
While the team tackles its latest case, Maggie faces a significant change of her own.
“Rendition” introduces Roland Buck III as Isaiah Green, Maggie’s new partner. CBS teases that Maggie struggles to bond with Green as the two begin working together, adding a new dynamic to the field team as Season 9 gets underway.
OA Zidan is also adjusting to a new role when the series returns, setting up another change for Zeeko Zaki’s longtime character as the new season begins.
The Season 9 premiere also connects directly with the larger FBI universe. John Boyd’s Stuart Scola will appear in the CIA Season 2 premiere, “The Deep,” which airs immediately after FBI on October 5.
“Rendition” is written by Aaron Ginsburg and directed by Alex Chapple.
FBI Season 9 Episode 1, “Rendition,” airs Monday, October 5 from 8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT on CBS. The episode will also stream live and on demand for Paramount+ Premium subscribers, with Paramount+ Essential subscribers able to watch on demand the following day.
