Elsbeth is heading back to work this October, and her first Season 4 case involves a marriage counselor whose own love life may be considerably more dangerous than her professional advice suggests.
CBS has released photos from Elsbeth Season 4 Episode 1, “Crazy in Love,” premiering Thursday, October 8 at 9:02 PM ET/PT. Carrie Preston returns as Elsbeth Tascioni, with Tony Award-winning actress Nicole Scherzinger guest starring as renowned marriage counselor Serena Collyer.
Serena presents a cool and composed exterior to her clients, but CBS teases that it hides a “murderous and messy passion.” That puts her directly in Elsbeth’s path as another seemingly polished New Yorker becomes the focus of an unconventional murder investigation.
The Season 4 premiere also brings developments on the personal side of Elsbeth’s life, with her son Teddy setting a wedding date.
Nicole Scherzinger Guest Stars In The Elsbeth Season 4 Premiere
Nicole Scherzinger makes her Elsbeth debut as Serena Collyer following her Tony Award-winning Broadway performance in Sunset Blvd.
The first photos from “Crazy in Love” offer a look at Scherzinger’s Serena as well as Carrie Preston’s return as Elsbeth.
The premiere also features the return of Gloria Reuben as Claudia Payne, while Ben Levi Ross returns as Teddy Tascioni. Wendell Pierce is back as Captain C.W. Wagner.
Season 4 continues Elsbeth’s work with the NYPD as her unusual investigative style puts her up against another collection of suspects who may believe they have committed the perfect crime.
Teddy Has Some Big News For Elsbeth
While Serena’s case drives the murder mystery, Teddy’s wedding plans give the premiere a major development closer to home.
CBS says Teddy will set a wedding date in “Crazy in Love,” bringing another change to Elsbeth’s life as the fourth season begins.
The new season once again stars Carrie Preston as Elsbeth Tascioni and Wendell Pierce as Captain C.W. Wagner.
“Crazy in Love” is written by Sarah Beckett and directed by Nancy Hower. Jonathan Tolins serves as showrunner and executive produces alongside Robert King, Michelle King, Erica Shelton Kodish, Bryan Goluboff, Gail Barringer and Leah Nanako Winkler.
Elsbeth Season 4 Episode 1, “Crazy in Love,” airs Thursday, October 8 from 9:02-10:01 PM ET/PT on CBS. The episode will stream live and on demand for Paramount+ Premium subscribers, with Paramount+ Essential subscribers able to watch on demand the following day.
