2018 Puppy Bowl Ratings – Animal Planet’s PUPPY BOWL XIV broke ratings records and was the highest rated Puppy Bowl ever with a 1.46 rating among Adults 25-54 in L+SD on Sunday, Feb. 4 from 3-5PM/ET (12-2PM/PT), up a whopping +32% from last year’s Puppy Bowl XIII (1.11) on Feb. 5, 2017. PUPPY BOWL XIV also beat 2014’s Puppy Bowl X, formerly the highest rated PUPPY BOWL among Adults 25-54 (1.25), by double digits (+17%). PUPPY BOWL XIV averaged more than three million Total Viewers P2+ (3.05) from 3-5PM/ET (12-2PM/PT), an increase of +24% vs. Puppy Bowl XIII.
Other Puppy Bowl ratings records set during PUPPY BOWL XIV included Men 25-54 (up +39% vs. Puppy Bowl XIII), Women 25-54 (up +26%), Adults 18-49 (up +23%), Men 18-49 (up +33%) and Women 18-49 (up +16%). PUPPY BOWL XIV is Animal Planet’s third highest rated telecast among Adults 25-54.
PUPPY BOWL XIV was the #1 telecast of the day on cable among Total Viewers P2+, Women 25-54 and Women 18-49. It was also the #1 non-sports cable telecast of the day among Adults 25-54/18-49. PUPPY BOWL XIV ranked #2 in ALL OF TELEVISION from 3-5PM/ET (12-2PM/PT) in its timeslot among Women 25-54/18-49 for the sixth consecutive year, no exclusions, beating programming on broadcast networks ABC, CBS, FOX and all of cable, behind only NBC and its Super Bowl coverage. In its time period from 3-5PM ET (12-2 PM /PT), Puppy Bowl drove Animal Planet to rank #1 among all cable networks across the 25-54 demo (Adults, Men, Women), across the 18-49 demo (Adults, Men, Women), among Adults 18-34, Adults 12-17 and Total Viewers P2+.
PUPPY BOWL XIV was the #1 social non-sports program on cable with more than 1.2 million interactions on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter across Sunday, Feb. 4. PUPPY BOWL XIV conversations earned trending topics on Twitter and Facebook, with mentions from celebrities that included Allison Janney, Mark Hamill, Billy Eichner, Audra MacDonald and Grace Helbig, as well as Major League Baseball. Dictionary.com got in on the #PuppyBowl action on Twitter by defining “cute aggression” as “The weird urge to squeeze all the puppies in the @AnimalPlanet #PuppyBowlXIV”.
Additionally, PUPPY BOWL XIV was a massive success on the Animal Planet Go app which allows viewers to watch live and catch up on full episodes of their favorite Animal Planet shows anytime anywhere, with streams up triple digits (+150%) on Sunday vs. Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017.
