HBO has released the official trailer for YOUTH, the new comedy series created by and starring Bad Sisters and Catastrophe creator Sharon Horgan.
The eight-episode series premieres with its first two episodes Sunday, September 20 at 10 PM ET/PT on HBO, with episodes also available to stream on HBO Max. New episodes will debut weekly on Sundays, with the season finale scheduled for November 1.

Horgan stars as Alex, a 50-year-old divorcee navigating a search for sex and love while simultaneously caring for her ailing parents and dealing with a son who should probably be considerably more grown up than he is.
The series finds Horgan returning to familiar comedic territory — messy relationships, complicated families and adults who aren’t nearly as good at adulthood as they might like everyone else to believe.
Alongside Horgan, YOUTH stars Rupert Friend as Patrick, Sharlene Whyte as Sam, Aran Murphy as Ruari and Robbie Gee as Frank.
The trailer offers the first extended look at Alex’s increasingly complicated life as she attempts to balance dating with the responsibilities pulling her in seemingly every other direction.
Horgan recently explained that she had wanted to explore the realities of middle-aged womanhood for several years, particularly the disconnect between the way women actually experience aging and the version frequently portrayed on screen. The series also explores the influences shaping teenage boys through Alex’s son Ruari.
Sharon Horgan Writes And Stars In YOUTH
YOUTH is produced by Merman, the production company behind Bad Sisters, Amandaland and Vladimir.
Horgan created the series and serves as writer and executive producer in addition to starring. Faye Dorn, Jim Kleverweis and Dawn Shadforth also executive produce, with Shadforth directing.
The new comedy marks another HBO project for Horgan, who previously created and executive produced Divorce, starring Sarah Jessica Parker.

Along with the trailer, HBO has released new first-look images and key art from YOUTH, offering a closer look at Sharon Horgan as Alex and the people complicating her already complicated life.
The photos feature Horgan alongside Rupert Friend as Patrick, Sharlene Whyte as Sam and Aran Murphy as Alex’s son Ruari, previewing both the romantic and family relationships at the center of the new comedy.
