Acorn TV has officially renewed its breakout murder mystery series YOU’RE KILLING ME for season 2 after the Brooke Shields-led drama became the streaming platform’s biggest launch ever.
The renewal was announced during an ATX Television Festival panel in Austin, Texas, where star and executive producer Brooke Shields joined co-star Amalia Williamson to reveal the news. Since premiering on May 18, YOU’RE KILLING ME has made history as Acorn TV’s #1 series launch of all time in both subscriber acquisition and viewership.
Starring Brooke Shields, Amalia Williamson, and Tom Cavanagh, the six-episode murder mystery follows bestselling novelist Allie as she teams up with aspiring writer and podcaster Andi to investigate the murder of a close friend in the small Maine town of Founder’s Cove.
Season 2 will once again consist of six hour-long episodes and is expected to begin production later this year.
Brooke Shields Celebrates Season 2 Renewal
“I am crazy happy we get to do a second season of You’re Killing Me,” Shields said in a statement. “I’m thrilled to be collaborating once again with the talented Robin Bernheim and having the opportunity to act opposite Amalia Williamson and Tom Cavanagh has been a dream.”
She added:
“I promise we will continue to deliver the show you all fell in love with… even if it kills me.”
YOU’RE KILLING ME Becomes A Major Hit For Acorn TV
Acorn TV and AMC executives also praised the show’s breakout success, with AMC Global Media Chief Content Officer Dan McDermott calling the series “a breakout hit” that combines “sharp storytelling and irresistible twists” with Brooke Shields’ “singular presence at the center of it all.”
The series has quickly become one of Acorn TV’s biggest originals thanks to its cozy mystery atmosphere, small-town secrets, and strong chemistry between the lead cast.
Created by Robin Bernheim, the series blends light mystery, drama, and humor while embracing the same cozy murder mystery tone that has made similar streaming hits so popular with viewers.
Bernheim is also known for projects including:
- When Calls the Heart
- Mystery 101
- Netflix’s Princess Switch trilogy
- Mother of the Bride
