Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey continued its impressive theatrical run this weekend, easily holding onto the No. 1 spot with $87 million from 3,942 theaters. While the epic adventure dipped 29.6% from last weekend, it has already sailed to a remarkable $286.4 million domestic total, cementing its status as one of the year’s biggest box office successes.
Disney’s live-action Moana remained in second place with $10.5 million, adding to a domestic total of $102.5 million. The family favorite slipped 41.5% in its latest frame but continues to draw audiences looking for a big-screen adventure.
Pixar’s Toy Story 5 claimed third with $10 million, falling a modest 27.3% while pushing its incredible domestic haul to $448.6 million. The latest chapter in the beloved franchise remains one of the summer’s strongest performers and is closing in on another major milestone.
Making the biggest splash among newcomers, Hadestown: The Musical opened in fourth place with $9.69 million from 1,949 locations. The theatrical adaptation of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical delivered a solid debut and could find continued success through strong word of mouth and musical theater fans.
Rounding out the top five was Minions & Monsters, which collected $9.6 million in its latest weekend. The animated comedy eased 29.4% while lifting its domestic total to $155.4 million, continuing a healthy run for Universal’s family-friendly release.
