WAR Trailer Pits Dominic West and Sienna Miller Against Each Other in HBO Legal Drama

HBO has released the official trailer for WAR, its new London-set legal drama starring Dominic West and Sienna Miller as the two central figures in a ruthless, headline-making divorce battle.

Created by George Kay, the writer behind Lupin and Hijack, WAR turns the machinery surrounding a high-profile breakup into an eight-episode battle of egos, legal strategy and personal betrayal. West plays British technology entrepreneur Morgan Henderson, while Miller is international film star Carla Duval. Their explosive divorce is the case that puts two of London’s most powerful firms directly in each other’s path.

On one side is Taylor & Byrne, led by partners—and partners in life—Serena Byrne (Phoebe Fox) and Nicholas Taylor (James McArdle). On the other is Cathcarts & Sons, where Nina Sosanya’s Beatrice “Queen Bea” Ubosi and Pip Torrens’ St John Smallwood are ready to fight for every possible advantage. Caught in the middle is ambitious young lawyer Jonathan “Johnny” Warren, played by Archie Renaux, as he enters a world in which winning is the currency and loyalty is never quite as simple as it looks.

The trailer’s central promise is not simply courtroom drama. Kay’s setup gives the series room to follow the people who build their lives around these public fights: the lawyers, the clients and the younger players learning what power costs. With an international movie star and a British tech entrepreneur at the center, the case is also built for spectacle—private lives made public, rival firms with reputations to protect and no shortage of reasons for every side to play hard.

Who Stars in WAR?

West and Miller lead an expansive ensemble that includes Phoebe Fox, James McArdle, Archie Renaux, Nina Sosanya and Pip Torrens. The cast also features Celia Imrie, Nick Mohammed, Emma Laird, Aran Murphy, Archie Panjabi, Adrian Scarborough, Shaheen Jafargholi, Akiya Henry, Honor Swinton Byrne, Miles Jupp, Kartanya Maynard, Alexandra Mardell, Dylan Edwards, Mark Quartley and Steve Furst.

The creative team is equally well placed for an elevated legal drama. WAR is co-produced by New Pictures and Observatory Pictures in association with Sky and HBO. Kay created, writes and executive produces the series alongside Willow Grylls and Matt Sandford for New Pictures, as well as Susan Breen, Ben Taylor, Andrea Dewsbury and Megan Spanjian for Sky. Ben Taylor is the lead director, with Laurie Borg producing.
