The Gotham Film & Media Institute has officially announced the 2025 Gotham Awards nominations, celebrating the best in independent film and streaming storytelling. Leading the pack is One Battle After Another, earning six nominations including Best Feature, Best Screenplay, and Breakthrough Director. Other major contenders include acclaimed releases from A24, Netflix, and Warner Bros. Pictures, solidifying the Gotham Awards 2025 as one of the most anticipated events of the upcoming awards season.
This year’s Gotham Awards nominations highlight a powerful mix of acclaimed independent films, breakthrough directorial debuts, and bold performances across the 2025 awards season landscape. Alongside One Battle After Another, standout nominees include A24’s emotional drama The Lost Light, Netflix’s hit The Silent Room, and Warner Bros. Pictures’ biopic Echoes of Fame. The Gotham Awards continue to champion artistic innovation, honoring the year’s most daring storytellers in categories such as Best Feature, Best International Feature, Outstanding Lead Performance, and Breakthrough Series.
Nominees are selected by committees of film critics, journalists, festival programmers, and film curators. Separate juries of writers, directors, actors, producers, editors, and other film industry professionals will determine the final recipients of The Gothams.
The Gothams Tributes, which will also be presented at the ceremony, are the organization’s highest honors celebrating outstanding achievement in film. The Tributes recognize the industry’s most accomplished creators and performers whose work has made an indelible impact on both the art form and popular culture.
