The Gilded Age Season 4 Episode 1 photos preview “Ring the Bells,” the season premiere airing tonight, Sunday, November 1, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and available to stream on HBO Max. Julian Fellowes’ period drama returns for an eight-episode season in which social advancement brings new complications for the families competing for influence.
Carrie Coon’s Bertha Russell has changed Society, but her family must now reckon with the cost. Across the street, Christine Baranski’s Agnes van Rhijn sees an opening to regain her position, setting up another shift in the balance of power.
What Is The Gilded Age Season 4 About?
HBO’s season-wide synopsis places the consequences of Bertha’s ambitions at the center of the new chapter. While the Russells face the effects of her success, Agnes looks for a way to restore her standing.
Elsewhere this season, Louisa Jacobson’s Marian Brook forges a new path, and Denée Benton’s Peggy Scott works to gain acceptance from her future in-laws. Their stories bring questions of independence, belonging and family expectations into the season’s wider social struggles.
Cynthia Nixon returns as Ada alongside Morgan Spector as George Russell, Taissa Farmiga as Gladys and Harry Richardson as Larry Russell. The premiere opens a season whose central warning is that getting what you want can come with consequences.
