SNL Closes Out 2025 With Three Back-to-Back December Shows

NBC is ending 2025 on a high note as SNL – Saturday Night Live rolls out a stacked, star-powered lineup to close out the year. The long-running sketch comedy institution will air three consecutive new episodes in December, featuring an exciting mix of returning favorites, first-time hosts, Grammy-nominated musical guests, and some of the most talked-about artists of the year. With comedy heavyweights, acclaimed actors, and iconic musicians stepping onto the Studio 8H stage, SNL is wrapping up the year with one of its strongest lineups yet.

December 6 – Host: Melissa McCarthy / Musical Guest: Dijon

Kicking off the December slate, Melissa McCarthy returns to host SNL for the sixth time, bringing her signature comedic energy back to 30 Rock. A two-time Academy Award nominee and an Emmy winner for her unforgettable turn hosting SNL in 2017, McCarthy remains one of the show’s most beloved recurring hosts. Fans can expect big laughs, larger-than-life characters, and the kind of fearless physical comedy that has made her sketches instant classics.

Joining her as musical guest is Dijon, making his SNL debut. The rising star is currently nominated for two Grammy Awards and is touring in support of his critically acclaimed album “Baby.” With his emotional vocals and textured production style, Dijon’s first appearance on the SNL stage is poised to be a standout musical moment of the season.

December 13 – Host: Josh O’Connor / Musical Guest: Lily Allen

On December 13, Emmy winner Josh O’Connor steps into the hosting spotlight for the first time. Known for his riveting performance in The Crown and his growing list of high-profile film roles, O’Connor stars in the highly anticipated “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery,” arriving in select theaters Nov. 26 and streaming on Netflix starting Dec. 12. With the film releasing just one day before his episode, his hosting debut arrives at the perfect cultural moment.

The night’s musical guest is Lily Allen, returning to SNL for her second appearance. The Grammy-nominated artist just released her fifth studio album, “West End Girl,” earning praise for both its emotional songwriting and bold stylistic direction. Her return to the SNL music stage is expected to showcase both new hits and the signature sound that made her a global star.

December 20 – Host: Ariana Grande / Musical Guest: Cher

SNL closes out 2025 with a powerhouse duo. Ariana Grande returns as host for the third time, bringing her multi-hyphenate talents back to Studio 8H. Grande stars in “Wicked: For Good,” the blockbuster musical film opening Nov. 21, fresh off a wave of major award buzz and box office momentum. Her mix of sharp comedic timing, star power, and vocal ability always makes her an SNL standout.

Icon Cher will serve as the episode’s musical guest, marking only her second appearance—and her first since 1987. With an Oscar, Emmy, and Grammy to her name, Cher remains one of the most influential entertainers of all time. Her newly released autobiography, “Cher: The Memoir,” is currently available in paperback and has been a major bestseller throughout the fall.
