Netflix is looking ahead to 2027 with a star-studded new romance.
Saturn Return, starring Charles Melton, Rachel Brosnahan and Will Poulter, will debut on Netflix in 2027, bringing together an impressive ensemble for a Chicago-set story about love, loss and the complicated transition into adulthood.
Directed by Sing Sing filmmaker Greg Kwedar, the movie follows its characters across a decade of their lives, beginning with the aspirational young love of college and continuing into the considerably messier realities of adulthood.
Netflix had previously positioned Saturn Return as a 2026 release, but the streamer has now officially confirmed the movie will arrive in 2027.

Melton comes to the film following performances in May December and Warfare, while Brosnahan recently starred as Lois Lane in Superman. Poulter’s credits include Midsommar and Black Mirror.
They’re joined by David Morse, Jean Yoon and Kim Dickens.
Kwedar praised the ensemble while discussing the movie with Netflix, describing the actors as deeply connected to the project and highlighting the sense of family at the center of the film.

Saturn Return also puts Greg Kwedar back behind the camera following Sing Sing.
Gaelyn Golde wrote the screenplay, with revisions by Kwedar and Clint Bentley.
Kwedar and Bentley previously collaborated on Netflix’s Train Dreams, which Bentley directed from a screenplay he co-wrote with Kwedar.
Plan B and Emily Wolfe are producing Saturn Return.
The combination of Kwedar, Plan B and the film’s ensemble gives Netflix a potentially significant prestige title as it begins building its 2027 movie slate.
