Rivals is heading back to Rutshire this fall. Hulu has announced that Season 2 will return with new episodes on Wednesday, November 11, launching the second half of the season with a three-episode premiere in the U.S.
Six episodes remain in Rivals Season 2, picking up after the dramatic midseason finale left the residents of Rutshire dealing with tragedy, scandal and betrayal. Hulu has also released a new collection of first-look photos offering an early glimpse at what’s ahead for David Tennant, Alex Hassell, Aidan Turner, Bella Maclean and the rest of the ensemble.
Rivals Season 2 First-Look Photos
The new episodes will push the battle between Tony Baddingham (David Tennant) and Declan O’Hara (Aidan Turner) for the Cotswolds broadcasting crown to new heights, while Rupert Campbell-Black (Alex Hassell) is forced to confront his own personal demons.
Elsewhere, Taggie O’Hara (Bella Maclean) finds herself caught in the middle of the increasingly chaotic franchise war as she tries to find the courage to follow her heart. The remaining episodes will unfold against a particularly eventful stretch of the Rutshire social calendar, including Bonfire Night, the Hampshire Hunt Ball and Christmas.
New Faces Are Coming to Rivals
The second half of Rivals Season 2 will also introduce several new characters. Rachael Stirling joins as Araminta Pemberton, Lady Monica Baddingham’s younger sister, while Rupert Evans plays headmaster David Hawkley and Santiago Cabrera arrives as Argentinian polo legend Alejandro Mendoza.
Hayley Atwell and Rupert Everett will also return as guest stars Helen Gordon and Malise Gordon.
The returning ensemble includes David Tennant, Alex Hassell, Aidan Turner, Nafessa Williams, Bella Maclean, Katherine Parkinson, Danny Dyer, Victoria Smurfit, Oliver Chris, Lisa McGrillis, Emily Atack, Rufus Jones, Luca Pasqualino, Catriona Chandler, Annabel Scholey, Gary Lamont, Hubert Burton, Gabriel Tierney, Lara Peake and Bryony Hannah.
Based on Dame Jilly Cooper’s bestselling Rutshire Chronicles, Rivals is produced by Happy Prince, part of ITV Studios. Dominic Treadwell-Collins, Alexander Lamb, Felicity Blunt, Elliot Hegarty, Laura Wade and Cooper serve as executive producers.
When Does Rivals Season 2 Return?
Rivals Season 2 returns Wednesday, November 11 with three new episodes on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ in the U.S. The remaining three episodes will then be released weekly.
Season 1 and the first six episodes of Rivals Season 2 are available to stream now on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
