The past is coming back to haunt American Horror Story.
FX has released the official trailer for American Horror Story: 13, offering the biggest look yet at the anthology’s highly anticipated 13th installment ahead of its Thursday, September 24 premiere.
The new season brings together an enormous collection of American Horror Story veterans, including Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe and Leslie Grossman, with many returning to fan-favorite roles from across the franchise.
American Horror Story: 13 Brings Back Familiar Horrors
Rather than simply beginning another completely disconnected chapter, American Horror Story: 13 is reaching deep into the franchise’s history. Familiar characters and horrors from previous installments are returning, including Constance Langdon, Cordelia Goode, Madison Montgomery, Marie Laveau, Rubber Man, Twisty the Clown and Kai Anderson.
That gives the 13th season an opportunity to revisit several of the anthology’s most memorable worlds, from the Murder House and the witches of Coven to characters and storylines that later collided in Apocalypse.
The sprawling cast also includes Joey Pollari, Avantika, Jamie Brewer, Elle Chapman, Berto Colon, Alex Consani, Frances Conroy, Mat Fraser, Seth Gabel, Orlando Jones, Paul Anthony Kelly, John Carroll Lynch, Tig Notaro, Madelaine Petsch, Fedor Steer, Mena Suvari, Zach Villa and John Waters.
Created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, American Horror Story debuted in 2011 and has earned more than 100 Emmy nominations while becoming the longest-running hour-long series in FX history. FX says the franchise has accumulated more than 700 million streaming hours worldwide.
