President Curtis hasn’t even premiered yet, and Adult Swim is already giving the animated comedy another term in office.
During the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel, Adult Swim announced that President Curtis has officially been renewed for Season 2, just days before the series makes its highly anticipated debut.
The announcement was made during a panel featuring Keith David, Stephanie Beatriz, Jim Rash, and co-creators Dan Harmon and James Siciliano.
Season 2 Already in Production
The early renewal comes ahead of the series premiere on Sunday, July 26, at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT on Adult Swim, immediately following the Rick and Morty Season 9 finale.
New episodes will also stream the following day on HBO Max.
Season 2 will continue following President Andre Curtis and his unconventional team as they take on even stranger missions involving cryptids, paranormal mysteries, interdimensional diplomacy, and bizarre sci-fi threats that fall outside Rick Sanchez’s interest.
Set in the Rick and Morty Universe
Created by Dan Harmon and James Siciliano, President Curtis expands the Rick and Morty universe by shifting the spotlight to one of the franchise’s fan-favorite recurring characters.
Rather than following Rick and Morty, the series centers on President Andre Curtis (Keith David) and the government team responsible for dealing with the bizarre crises that threaten Earth when the Smith family isn’t around to save the day.

The early pickup suggests the network sees plenty of potential in expanding the Rick and Morty universe beyond its flagship series. If the premiere connects with fans, President Curtis could quickly become one of Adult Swim’s next breakout animated comedies.
