Sonny Looks for Help at Career Day
Sonny has avoided his “imposter” mother all weekend. Back at school, he is determined to find someone who might take his concerns seriously, and he pursues a police officer attending Career Day.
The officer tells Sonny that someone broke into his house while he was in the hospital. The news gives him another question to pursue as he tries to understand the change he believes he has seen in Ellen.
Weldon Suggests a Paranormal Investigator
Weldon, played by Colter Lee, suggests that Sonny turn to Sharla, played by Meera Syal. A private investigator who believes in the paranormal, Sharla represents a different possible source of help for Sonny.
The suggestion opens another route for his search without settling whether his suspicions are justified. Sonny believes something has happened to his mother; the break-in and the prospect of an investigator give him more to examine.
