Robert Langdon is officially back on the case.
Netflix has released the first behind-the-scenes look at Morgan Spector as Robert Langdon and Rebecca Hall as Katherine Solomon as production begins in Prague on its new series set in the world of Dan Brown’s bestselling novel The Secret of Secrets.
Spector, known for The Gilded Age and The Plot Against America, takes over the role of the famed Harvard professor and symbologist previously played on the big screen by Tom Hanks. Hall stars opposite him as Katherine Solomon, a scientist whose relationship with Langdon will reveal a different side of the longtime character.
Netflix has not yet announced an official title or premiere date for the series.

The newly released behind-the-scenes image shows Spector and Hall together on location as filming gets underway in Prague.
Spector’s Langdon is once again a brilliant academic whose knowledge of symbols, religion, history and art makes him uniquely equipped to unravel mysteries that blur the lines between science and spirituality.
Katherine will also bring something new to the screen version of Langdon.
Showrunner Carlton Cuse says Katherine represents Langdon’s first serious love interest, changing the way the character approaches both his life and the mystery unfolding around him.
What Is Netflix’s Robert Langdon Series About?
The currently untitled series is set in the world of Brown’s 2025 novel The Secret of Secrets, the sixth book featuring Robert Langdon.
The story sends Langdon racing against time and ancient forces to rescue a missing scientist and recover her groundbreaking manuscript. The discoveries contained within it could fundamentally change humanity’s understanding of the mind.
Netflix says the adaptation will combine futuristic science and mystical lore with the international intrigue and history-spanning mysteries associated with Brown’s novels.
For Cuse, bringing Langdon to television also offers an opportunity the character’s previous movies couldn’t provide.
Rather than compressing Brown’s dense mysteries into a two-hour film, the new adaptation is being developed as an eight-hour series, giving the creative team considerably more room to explore the story’s ideas, characters and puzzles.
Who Stars in the New Robert Langdon Series?
Spector and Hall lead a sizable ensemble.
Cherry Jones plays Heide Nagel, Corey Stoll is Everett Finch, Rob Delaney plays Jonas Faukman and Abbey Lee stars as Sasha Vesna.
The cast also includes Mamoudou Athie as Michael Harris, Ben Levi Ross as Alex Conan, Anamaria Marinca as Dr. Gessner, Richard Sammel as Karl Muller and Elena Saurel as Susan Housemore.
Cuse and Brown co-created the series, with Cuse serving as showrunner, writer and executive producer. Brown also executive produces alongside Emma Forman for Genre Arts and Zoe Robyn.
Morgan Spector Is the Latest Robert Langdon
Spector becomes the latest actor to bring one of Brown’s most famous characters to the screen.
Robert Langdon first appeared in the 2000 novel Angels & Demons before returning in The Da Vinci Code, The Lost Symbol, Inferno, Origin and The Secret of Secrets.
Tom Hanks played Langdon in the feature films The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons and Inferno, while Ashley Zukerman portrayed a younger version of the character in the 2021 television adaptation The Lost Symbol.
The Netflix series gives Spector an opportunity to establish a third screen interpretation of Langdon — and the longer television format should allow considerably more room for the character and Brown’s elaborate mythology.
When Will Netflix’s Robert Langdon Series Premiere?
Netflix has not announced a premiere date or release window for the new Robert Langdon series.
Production is now underway in Prague, however, and the first behind-the-scenes image of Spector and Hall marks the clearest sign yet that Langdon’s next screen adventure is moving forward.
The currently untitled series will stream exclusively on Netflix.
