The NFL Melbourne Game will stream live on Netflix.

Netflix subscribers can watch the game as part of their existing subscription, with the live event available across Netflix plans.

Viewers can find the game from the Netflix home screen or search for the NFL Melbourne Game inside the Netflix app. As with other Netflix live events, compatible TVs, streaming devices, web browsers, phones and tablets can be used to watch.

The game is also available on mobile devices through NFL+ for eligible U.S. viewers.

Who Are the 49ers vs. Rams Announcers?

Noah Eagle will handle play-by-play for Netflix’s 49ers-Rams broadcast from Melbourne, with former Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly joining him as analyst.

The assignment marks Kuechly’s debut as a game analyst in the broadcast booth.

Tom Pelissero and MJ Acosta-Ruiz will report from the sidelines, while Terry McAulay serves as rules analyst.

Pelissero is also joining Netflix’s NFL coverage under a multi-year agreement.

Netflix has assembled a sizable studio team around the game as well, making the Melbourne matchup one of the streamer’s biggest NFL productions yet.

Why Is the NFL Playing 49ers vs. Rams in Australia?

The Melbourne game is part of the NFL’s continuing international expansion.

While the league has played regular-season games in several countries, the September 10 matchup will mark the first NFL regular-season game in Australia.

The league couldn’t have picked a much bigger rivalry for its Australian debut.

San Francisco and Los Angeles are NFC West rivals and both reached the playoffs during the 2025 season. The matchup also brings some of the NFL’s most recognizable players to Melbourne, including Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey for San Francisco and Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua and Davante Adams for Los Angeles.

The NFL’s 2026 international schedule is its most ambitious yet, spanning multiple continents and countries throughout the regular season.

San Francisco will even make a second international trip later in the year, facing the Minnesota Vikings in Mexico City in November.

Aaron Donald Is Returning for the Rams

The Melbourne game also gained another enormous storyline shortly before kickoff.

Aaron Donald is coming out of retirement and returning to the Los Angeles Rams, setting up his return to NFL action against San Francisco in Australia.

Donald retired following the 2023 season after spending his entire career with the Rams and establishing himself as one of the most dominant defensive players in NFL history.

His return adds another major attraction to a Week 1 matchup that already features two playoff teams, an NFC West rivalry and the NFL’s historic Australian debut.

Netflix Is Expanding Its NFL Schedule in 2026

The Melbourne game is only the beginning of Netflix’s expanded NFL presence.

Under an extension of Netflix and the NFL’s partnership, the streaming service’s 2026 lineup includes the Week 1 game in Melbourne, a Thanksgiving Eve game, a Christmas Day game and a Week 18 regular-season finale, along with NFL Honors.

The agreement extends through the 2029-30 season.

That represents a significant expansion from Netflix’s initial move into live NFL coverage with its Christmas Day games.

For Netflix subscribers, it also means NFL games are becoming a more regular part of the service rather than something reserved exclusively for Christmas.
