Apple TV+ is putting the pedal to the metal this fall.
The streamer has officially announced that Matchbox The Movie, inspired by the iconic Mattel toy line, will premiere globally on October 9, 2026. Alongside the release date announcement, Apple also unveiled the film’s first teaser, giving fans an early look at the action-packed adventure led by John Cena.

What Is Matchbox The Movie About?
Inspired by the legendary die-cast vehicles that have fueled imaginations for generations, Matchbox The Movie follows a group of lifelong friends whose quiet lives are thrown into chaos when their former leader unexpectedly returns home.
That friend is Sean (John Cena), now an undercover CIA agent. His arrival quickly pulls the group into a high-stakes international mission that sends them racing around the globe to stop a threat capable of changing the world.
Blending explosive action, globe-trotting adventure, and longtime friendships, Matchbox The Movie aims to turn one of Mattel’s most recognizable brands into an exciting cinematic event.
