It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 18 Sets August Premiere Date, Releases New Key Art

The Gang is officially stepping back up to the plate.

FX has announced that It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia will return for its record-breaking 18th season on Monday, August 17, 2026, with new episodes airing at 9:00 PM ET/PT on FXX, streaming the next day on Hulu, and available internationally on Disney+. Along with the premiere date, FX also unveiled brand-new key art celebrating the comedy’s long-awaited return.

Even better for longtime fans, Season 18 expands back to 10 episodes, marking the first full-length season in several years and giving viewers two extra weeks of chaos from television’s longest-running live-action comedy.

The Gang Is Back To Their Old Tricks

Season 18 promises a return to the outrageous, character-driven stories that made It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia a comedy institution.

Charlie, Mac, Dennis, Dee, and Frank find themselves navigating another collection of absurd situations, including fighting over an inheritance, dealing with workplace automation, embracing a newfound appreciation for neurodivergence, surviving tent encampments, and attempting to repair their public image by sponsoring a Little League baseball team.

Of course, no season of Sunny would be complete without questionable life choices, bizarre schemes, and escalating feuds. This time around, the Gang also squares off against LARPers, Renaissance Faire enthusiasts, the ever-unpredictable McPoyle family, and a variety of conspiracy theories—all while trying to keep Paddy’s Pub from descending further into complete anarchy.

Bigger Season, Bigger Laughs

One of the biggest surprises is the return to a 10-episode season, giving fans more time with Charlie, Mac, Dennis, Dee, and Frank than they’ve had in recent years.

FX also promises plenty of celebrity guest stars, callbacks to iconic Philadelphia traditions, and clever nods to classic television sitcoms, blending the show’s trademark satire with the self-aware humor that has kept it fresh for nearly two decades.

Whether they’re chasing another terrible business idea or creating chaos simply because they can, one thing remains certain: growing older hasn’t made the Gang any wiser.

Why Fans Should Be Excited

After several shorter seasons, the return to a full 10-episode run is reason enough for longtime fans to celebrate. Combined with a lineup of outrageous new storylines, celebrity cameos, and the Gang’s signature brand of unapologetic chaos, Season 18 looks ready to remind audiences why It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia remains one of television’s funniest and most consistently inventive comedies.
