Howard Stern is officially headed to HBO Max.
HBO Max has partnered with The Howard Stern Production Company and SiriusXM to bring filmed versions of The Howard Stern Show to the streaming service beginning Thursday, September 17 at 12:01 a.m. PT/3:01 a.m. ET.
New episodes will arrive every Thursday, with each week’s SiriusXM show adapted into a streamable HBO Max episode. The streaming editions will also include periodic extras.
The announcement confirms a deal that had been reported over the weekend but had not yet been formally announced by HBO Max, SiriusXM or Stern. Previous reporting described the streaming arrangement as an edited weekly version of Stern’s SiriusXM program without a confirmed premiere date.
The September 17 launch also lines up with HBO Max’s previously released September programming schedules, which had quietly listed The Howard Stern Show for that date.
Howard Stern Brings His SiriusXM Show to HBO Max
Rather than launching an entirely separate television show, HBO Max will turn Stern’s existing SiriusXM program into a weekly streaming series.
Episodes will showcase Stern’s celebrity and musician interviews, commentary and conversations with longtime co-host Robin Quivers, along with members of his team including Fred Norris and Gary Dell’Abate.
The deal gives HBO Max viewers a much larger window into a program that, despite its decades-long history, has primarily been experienced as an audio show.
Stern said bringing the show to HBO Max will finally allow audiences to see considerably more of what happens during the broadcasts.
“HBO convinced me to pull back the curtain and let the world watch.”
Stern called bringing his latest SiriusXM shows to HBO Max viewers every week “a career highlight.”
Casey Bloys Welcomes Howard Stern to HBO Max
Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO of HBO and HBO Max Content, praised Stern’s influence on broadcasting and his reputation as an interviewer while announcing the partnership.
“Howard Stern has always been in a category of his own with an unmistakable, unique take on the world.”
Bloys added that HBO Max was excited to partner with SiriusXM and welcome Stern to the streaming platform.
The move comes amid changes to Stern’s longtime SiriusXM presence. Howard 100 remains the home of The Howard Stern Show, while SiriusXM’s September lineup changes are moving Radio Andy into the channel 101 position previously associated with Howard 101.
When Does The Howard Stern Show Premiere on HBO Max?
The Howard Stern Show premieres globally on HBO Max Thursday, September 17 at 12:01 a.m. PT/3:01 a.m. ET.
New filmed episodes will stream every Thursday.
The series is executive produced by The Howard Stern Production Company, Inc.
