Golden Globe-winning, Academy Award–nominated, and Emmy-nominated actress Taraji P. Henson has signed a multiyear first-look deal with FOX Entertainment Studios (FES) through her company TPH Entertainment. Under this partnership, Henson will develop and executive produce a slate of scripted and unscripted television series across drama, comedy, and reality formats, reinforcing FOX’s commitment to championing diverse storytelling and powerful new voices in entertainment.
Henson, best known for her iconic role as Cookie Lyon on FOX’s hit series Empire — which earned her a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy nomination — continues to expand her influence as a producer and creative force.
Working alongside Jamila Jordan-Theus, Head of Development and Production at TPH Entertainment, Henson’s team is set to develop groundbreaking TV projects for FOX Entertainment Studios that reflect authentic voices and innovative storytelling.
“Taraji brings tremendous vision, commitment and creative fearlessness to every project, making her a truly inspiring partner,” said FOX Entertainment Studios’ Hannah Pillemer, Head of Scripted, and Allison Wallach, Head of Unscripted. “Together with TPH Entertainment, we’re excited to empower new voices and develop projects that both entertain and captivate audiences.”
Henson and Jordan-Theus added, “We are thrilled to partner with Fernando Szew and the entire FOX Entertainment Studios team as we continue to produce thoughtful and bold stories alongside authentic voices. TPH stands on the pillars of community, and we’re eager to embrace this storytelling collective and deliver compelling original content to audiences across the globe.”
In addition to her work behind the camera, Taraji P. Henson remains a powerhouse performer. She is celebrated for acclaimed roles in The Color Purple, Hidden Figures, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Recently, she starred in Netflix’s Straw and Peacock’s record-breaking Fight Night. Henson also made her Broadway debut alongside Cedric the Entertainer in Debbie Allen’s Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, following a Tony Award nomination for producing Jaja’s African Hair Braiding.
