Showtime’s Dexter entered one of its most consequential chapters with Season 7, which premiered on September 30, 2012. Following the shocking events of the Season 6 finale, Dexter Morgan can no longer keep his carefully constructed double life completely separated from the people closest to him. The new season dramatically changes the relationship between Dexter and his sister Debra Morgan, pushing both characters into unfamiliar territory while Miami Metro continues investigating a growing list of dangerous cases.
Michael C. Hall returns as Dexter alongside Jennifer Carpenter as Debra, Desmond Harrington as Joey Quinn, David Zayas as Angel Batista, C.S. Lee as Vince Masuka, Lauren Vélez as Maria LaGuerta, and James Remar as Harry Morgan. Season 7 also introduces several major new characters, including Yvonne Strahovski as Hannah McKay, Ray Stevenson as Isaak Sirko, Jason Gedrick as George Novikov, and Katia Winter as Nadia.
The seventh season proved particularly important to the series as Deb’s discovery fundamentally altered the dynamic at the heart of Dexter, while Hannah McKay and Isaak Sirko became two of the show’s most memorable additions. Showtime’s promotional campaign leaned heavily into the newly complicated relationship between Dexter and Deb, while also providing an early look at Strahovski’s mysterious new character.
