Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 Premiere Date Set for October 30, First Teaser Released

Dexter Morgan will be back just in time for Halloween.

Paramount+ has announced that Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 will premiere Friday, October 30, 2026, with Michael C. Hall returning as Dexter Morgan. The premiere arrives during the 20th anniversary year of the Dexter franchise, which began with the original series in October 2006.

The premiere date was revealed alongside the first official teaser for the new season, which finds Dexter confronting another uncomfortable reality in addition to his usual collection of killers: getting older.

Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 Puts Dexter Between Two Killers

According to Paramount+, Season 2 finds Dexter caught between two very different killers — one with decades of notoriety and a long history of murder behind him and another younger killer terrorizing New York in ways the city has never experienced.

At the same time, Dexter is facing what may be an even stranger challenge for him: a mid-life crisis.

His son Harrison Morgan (Jack Alcott) will continue pursuing his own version of justice as the relationship between father and son enters what Paramount+ describes as their darkest chapter yet.

The new threats arrive with some major additions to the cast. Dan Stevens joins Season 2 as the Five Borough Killer, a serial killer who terrorizes New York by taunting police with threats against innocent people before carrying them out.

Brian Cox joins the series as the New York Ripper, an infamous killer whose crimes date back years. Although the character is no longer actively killing, Paramount+ previously revealed that he continues tormenting survivors of his murder spree.

Who Is Returning for Dexter: Resurrection Season 2?

Michael C. Hall once again leads the series as Dexter Morgan, with Uma Thurman returning as Charley and Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan.

Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, Desmond Harrington and James Remar are also returning. Harrington, who plays Joey Quinn, has been promoted to a series regular for Season 2.

Joining Stevens and Cox as new series regulars are Bokeem Woodbine and Nona Parker Johnson. Krysten Ritter will return as a guest star, while Gabriel Luna joins the new season in a guest-starring role.
