Criterion Collection November 2026 Releases Include KPop Demon Hunters, Wild at Heart & More

The Criterion Collection has unveiled its November 2026 releases, with an eclectic eight-film lineup led by the global animated phenomenon KPop Demon Hunters, David Lynch’s Wild at Heart, Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette and Philip Kaufman’s The Right Stuff.

The November slate spans animation, cult classics, the French New Wave, world cinema and contemporary independent film, with several titles receiving new 4K restorations and extensive special-edition packages.

Here’s everything joining the Criterion Collection in November 2026, including release dates, formats and some of the most notable special features.

KPop Demon Hunters — November 3

KPop Demon Hunters makes the jump from Netflix phenomenon to the Criterion Collection with one of November’s biggest physical-media releases. Directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, the animated musical follows K-pop superstars Rumi, Mira and Zoey, who balance their lives as members of HUNTR/X with a secret mission protecting humanity from supernatural threats.

Criterion’s director-approved edition features a new 4K digital master with Dolby Atmos, with the 4K UHD presentation available in Dolby Vision HDR. Extras include a feature-length animatic with a new introduction by Kang and Appelhans, a new making-of documentary, two video essays from Every Frame a Painting filmmakers Taylor Ramos and Tony Zhou, lyric videos and collectible postcards featuring artwork from artists who worked on the film.

Harold and Maude — November 3

Hal Ashby’s beloved 1971 cult classic Harold and Maude returns to the Criterion Collection in 4K. Bud Cort stars as the death-obsessed young Harold, whose unlikely relationship with the free-spirited Maude, played by Ruth Gordon, changes his outlook on life.

The new 4K UHD edition features Criterion’s 4K restoration presented in Dolby Vision HDR, along with an alternate 5.1 surround soundtrack. Extras include commentary by Ashby biographer Nick Dawson and producer Charles B. Mulvehill, archival seminar excerpts and an interview with songwriter Yusuf/Cat Stevens.

Blue Heron — November 10

Writer-director Sophy Romvari’s Blue Heron joins Criterion following its theatrical release. Set in the late 1990s, the coming-of-age drama follows eight-year-old Sasha and her Hungarian Canadian family after they relocate to Vancouver Island, where the increasingly dangerous behavior of Sasha’s older brother begins to fracture their fresh start.

The release includes a new Criterion Channel interview with Romvari, her 2020 short film Still Processing, the film’s trailer and notes by critic Beatrice Loayza.

Marie Antoinette — November 10

Kirsten Dunst takes center stage in Sofia Coppola’s boldly stylized Marie Antoinette, which brings eighteenth-century Versailles to life through lavish imagery, modern music and Coppola’s distinctive perspective on the young queen’s isolation inside the French royal court.

Criterion’s director-approved edition features a new 4K restoration supervised and approved by Coppola and cinematographer Lance Acord, with Dolby Vision HDR on the UHD disc. New extras include an interview with Coppola, selected-scene commentary from Dunst and a program featuring Acord, production designer KK Barrett and costume designer Milena Canonero.

Shoot the Piano Player — November 10

François Truffaut’s playful 1960 French New Wave crime film Shoot the Piano Player receives a new Criterion 4K edition. Charles Aznavour stars as a withdrawn pianist whose attempts to escape his past draw him into a world of romance, gangsters and violence.

The edition features a new 4K restoration with an uncompressed monaural soundtrack, commentary by film scholars Peter Brunette and Annette Insdorf, an introduction by Noah Baumbach, archival interviews with Truffaut and a collection of interviews and programs exploring the film and its music.

Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors — November 17

Sergei Parajanov’s visually groundbreaking Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors arrives in a new 4K restoration from The Film Foundation’s World Cinema Project.

Criterion’s edition includes a new introduction by World Cinema Project founder Martin Scorsese, commentary from historian Joshua First, a new interview with actor Larysa Kadochnykova, Ali Khamraev’s 2025 feature documentary The Lilac Wind of Paradjanov and the 2026 experimental short Shadowsur.

Wild at Heart — November 17

David Lynch’s feverish 1990 romance Wild at Heart brings Nicolas Cage and Laura Dern to Criterion 4K as outlaw lovers Sailor and Lula, whose attempt to escape together sends them through Lynch’s surreal vision of the American South.

The new 4K restoration of the unrated international version was supervised by cinematographer Frederick Elmes and approved by the David Lynch Estate. The UHD presentation includes Dolby Vision HDR, while the extensive extras feature archival documentaries, deleted scenes and outtakes, readings from Room to Dream and Lynch’s music video for Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game.”

The Right Stuff — November 24

Philip Kaufman’s sprawling 1983 account of America’s early space program The Right Stuff closes out Criterion’s November schedule. Based on Tom Wolfe’s book, the film follows the test pilots and Mercury Seven astronauts who helped push the United States into the space race.

The director-approved 4K edition features a new restoration supervised and approved by cinematographer Caleb Deschanel and a Dolby Vision HDR presentation. Criterion also includes archival material with Kaufman, new programs examining the visual effects, sound design and editing, selected-scene commentaries, deleted scenes and several documentaries about the film and the real people behind the story.
