American Horror Story Renewed for Season 14 on FX and Hulu

American Horror Story has been renewed for Season 14 on FX and Hulu. The announcement extends Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s horror anthology as the current installment, AHS: 13, approaches its October 29 finale following what FX describes as the series’ biggest streaming premiere.

The current season features Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts and Jessica Lange among its all-star ensemble. The renewal announcement does not set a premiere date, reveal a theme or confirm casting for the 14th installment.

American Horror Story Season 14 Follows a Record Streaming Launch

According to FX, the AHS: 13 premiere delivered the strongest streaming debut in the franchise’s history and marked Murphy’s biggest launch on Hulu and Disney+. Those launch comparisons are based on views during the first four days of streaming.

FX also says the premiere earned a place on Nielsen’s Streaming Top 10 charts. The announcement does not specify its chart position or provide a viewing-minute total for that appearance.

The distinction matters: the renewal comes with a streaming milestone, rather than a claim that the premiere broke the franchise’s linear television ratings record.

When Do the Final AHS: 13 Episodes Arrive?

Episodes 11 and 12 arrive Thursday, October 22, followed by the finale on Thursday, October 29. Episodes begin at 9 p.m. ET/PT on FX and 9 p.m. PT on Hulu.

The schedule brings the current installment to its conclusion just before Halloween. Viewers following the season can also revisit our coverage of the AHS: 13 official companion podcast, which features conversations with cast members and the creative team.

Who Stars in AHS: 13?

Alongside Paulson, Peters, Bassett, Bates, Roberts and Lange, the current installment stars Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman and Joey Pollari.

The wider ensemble includes Avantika, Jamie Brewer, Elle Chapman, Berto Colon, Alex Consani, Frances Conroy, Mat Fraser, Seth Gabel, Orlando Jones, Paul Anthony Kelly, John Carroll Lynch, Tig Notaro, Madelaine Petsch, Fedor Steer, Mena Suvari, Zach Villa and John Waters.

These are the announced performers for AHS: 13; FX has not identified the cast for Season 14 in this announcement.

A Horror Anthology With a Long FX History

Since launching in 2011, American Horror Story has moved through settings that include a murder house, a witches’ coven, a traveling freak show and a haunted hotel. FX calls it the network’s longest-running hour-long series.

The franchise has earned more than 100 Emmy nominations and 17 wins, including acting awards for Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates and James Cromwell. FX also reports nearly 2 billion hours of global engagement since its debut.

Murphy and Falchuk created the series and executive produce AHS: 13 alongside Ned Martel and Charlie Carver. Additional executive producers include Eric Kovtun, Nissa Diederich, Scott Robertson, Tanase Popa, Crystle Roberson Dorsey, Jennifer Salt and Tim Minear. 20th Television produces the series.
