The world of ALIEN: EARTH continues to grow as FX has announced three major additions to the cast of the highly anticipated second season.
Tracey Ullman, Sam Spruell, and Jerome Flynn have officially joined the sci-fi drama, which is currently in production in London. The trio joins the previously announced Peter Dinklage, adding even more star power to Noah Hawley’s acclaimed expansion of the iconic Alien franchise.
Created for television by Noah Hawley (Fargo, Legion), ALIEN: EARTH became one of FX’s biggest global hits, and Season 2 is expected to continue expanding the terrifying universe inspired by Ridley Scott’s legendary films.
A Growing Cast For Season 2
New cast members Tracey Ullman, Sam Spruell, and Jerome Flynn join returning star Sydney Chandler alongside an impressive international ensemble that includes Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Babou Ceesay, Samuel Blenkin, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Adrian Edmondson, David Rysdahl, Moe Bar-El, and Sandra Yi Sencindiver.
The new season also reunites Hawley with Sam Spruell, who previously collaborated with the Emmy-winning creator on Fargo.
While FX is keeping story details under wraps, the expanded cast suggests Season 2 will continue to broaden the scope of the series while introducing new characters into its terrifying science fiction world.
What’s Next For ALIEN: EARTH?
Production on Season 2 is currently underway in London, with the new episodes set to premiere on FX and stream on Hulu in the United States. Internationally, the series will once again stream on Disney+.
Additional casting announcements and premiere details are expected in the coming months as production continues.
About “Alien: Earth” Season 1
When the mysterious deep space research vessel USCSS Maginot crash-lands on Earth, “Wendy” (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat in FX’s “Alien: Earth.”
In the year 2120, the Earth is governed by five corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold. In this Corporate Era, cyborgs (humans with both biological and artificial parts) and synthetics (humanoid robots with artificial intelligence) exist alongside humans. But the game is changed when the wunderkind Founder and CEO of Prodigy Corporation unlocks a new technological advancement: hybrids (humanoid robots infused with human consciousness). The first hybrid prototype named “Wendy” marks a new dawn in the race for immortality. After Weyland-Yutani’s spaceship collides into Prodigy City, “Wendy” and the other hybrids encounter mysterious life forms more terrifying than anyone could have ever imagined.
