Prime Video has announced four new series regulars joining the cast of Young Sherlock Season 2 while confirming that production is officially underway on the next chapter of the hit mystery series. Alongside the announcement, the streamer also released a new start-of-production video featuring Guy Ritchie, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, and Dónal Finn.
All eight episodes of Young Sherlock Season 1 are now streaming exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Four New Series Regulars Join Season 2
Joining the cast for Season 2 are:
- Olivia Williams (The Father, Dune: Prophecy)
- Indira Varma (The Night Manager, Dune: Prophecy)
- Sophie Skelton (Outlander)
- Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones, Sunny)
The quartet joins returning stars Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Dónal Finn, Natascha McElhone, Holly Cattle, and Max Ironsas the mystery series expands its ensemble for another season of high-stakes adventures.
Guy Ritchie Returns Behind the Camera
Acclaimed filmmaker Guy Ritchie will once again direct the opening episode of Season 2 while serving as an executive producer.
Created for television by Matthew Parkhill, the action-packed mystery reimagines the early years of literature’s greatest detective, following a young Sherlock Holmes as he begins developing the skills that will one day make him legendary.
Season 1 Was a Massive Global Success
Prime Video also shared several impressive milestones from the series’ debut season.
According to the streamer:
- Season 1 reached 45 million viewers during its first 28 days.
- It ranked among the Top 10 Prime Original seasons of all time.
- The series reached No. 1 in more than 95 countries.
- 63% of its audience came from international markets, with particularly strong viewership in the U.K., India, and Germany.
- The Season 1 trailer generated 223 million views in its first seven days, becoming Prime Video’s most-watched series trailer during that timeframe.
- The series also earned a Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
