WIDOW'S BAY Renewed For Season 2 Ahead Of Apple TV+ Finale

The mysteries of Widow’s Bay aren’t over yet.

Apple TV+ has officially renewed its breakout hit WIDOW’S BAY for a second season ahead of the show’s highly anticipated Season 1 finale, which premieres June 17. The streamer also announced a new multi-year overall deal with series creator, showrunner, and executive producer Katie Dippold.

Led by Emmy Award winner Matthew Rhys, Widow’s Bay has quickly become one of Apple TV+’s most talked-about series, earning critical acclaim for its unique blend of mystery, horror, and dark comedy. The series currently holds a Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has been praised as one of the year’s best new shows.

Dippold jokingly teased the upcoming season by saying, “Season two is about how everything is great on the island and there’s nothing to worry about.”

Set on a remote island plagued by strange legends and unexplained events, WIDOW’S BAY follows Mayor Tom Loftis (Matthew Rhys) as he attempts to revive the struggling tourist destination despite warnings from locals who believe the island is cursed. After years of relative calm, those long-dismissed stories begin coming true, forcing the community to confront the terrifying secrets lurking beneath the surface.

The series stars Matthew Rhys alongside Kate O’Flynn, Stephen Root, Kingston Rumi Southwick, Kevin Carroll, Dale Dickey, K Callan, and Jeff Hiller.

Created by Katie Dippold and executive produced by Hiro Murai, WIDOW’S BAY has carved out a unique place in Apple TV+’s growing lineup of genre-bending originals.
