It was a huge weekend at the box office as Zootopia 2 roared into theaters and easily claimed the #1 spot with an impressive $96.8 million debut across 4,000 locations. Disney’s animated sequel is already off to a strong start, pushing its domestic total to $156 million after early previews.
In second place, Wicked: For Good continued its powerful run with $62.8 million, dropping 57% but lifting its domestic cume to a remarkable $270.4 million. The musical fantasy remains one of the year’s biggest hits.
Now You See Me: Now You Don’t held steady in third, adding $7 million for Lionsgate and bringing its total to $49.6 million after a softer 22% decline.
In fourth place, Predator: Badlands scared up another $4.8 million, pushing the 20th Century Studios revival to $85 million domestically.
Rounding out the Top 5 is The Running Man, which brought in $3.7 million for Paramount, dropping 35% for a new total of $34.2 million.
