“Wicked: For Good” Opens to a Stunning $150 Million
The weekend box office for November 23, 2025 delivered one of the biggest openings of the year as Universal’s Wicked: For Good soared to a massive $150 million debut. Playing across 4,115 locations with a staggering $36,452 per-theater average, the musical phenomenon effortlessly claimed the #1 spot and energized the entire marketplace heading into the holiday corridor.
Strong Holdovers and Newcomers Round Out the Top Five
In second place, Lionsgate’s Now You See Me: Now You Don’t added $9.12 million, a 57% drop from last weekend, bringing its cume to $36.83 million. Despite the decline, the franchise sequel remains a notable draw for moviegoers.
Third place went to 20th Century Studios’ Predator: Badlands, which earned $6.25 million in its latest frame. The film’s strong early interest continues to push its total to $76.28 million, even with a 51% week-to-week drop.
Paramount’s The Running Man took fourth with $5.8 million, falling 65% but reaching a $27.05 million cume.
Rounding out the Top 5, Searchlight’s Rental Family debuted with a respectable $3.3 million from 1,925 theaters, performing well for a specialty release in a crowded market.
