Weekend Box Office: Spider-Man: Brand New Day Stays on Top as One Night Only and Super Troopers 3 Debut

Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Sony’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day easily remained the No. 1 movie in North America, collecting an outstanding $145 million during its second weekend in theaters. While the film experienced a 60% decline from its blockbuster opening weekend, the latest Spider-Man adventure has already amassed an incredible $655.1 million domestically after just two weekends. The strong hold further cements the Marvel sequel as one of the biggest box office successes of 2026 and positions it to continue dominating theaters throughout the remainder of the summer. The Odyssey

Universal’s epic The Odyssey continued its remarkable theatrical run, earning $31.5 million to comfortably secure second place. The film dipped just 38% from last weekend, an impressive hold for a large-scale blockbuster, and increased its domestic total to $461.2 million. Strong word of mouth and premium format screenings continue to fuel the film’s success, making it one of Universal’s biggest hits of the year. Want to know if the film lives up to the hype? One Night Only

Opening in third place, Universal’s One Night Only debuted with $5.7 million from 3,012 theaters. While the opening wasn’t enough to challenge the weekend’s two dominant holdovers, the film managed a respectable launch considering the crowded marketplace. Its long-term performance will likely depend on audience reception and whether positive word of mouth can help it maintain momentum in the coming weeks.

Super Troopers 3

Searchlight’s Super Troopers 3 returned audiences to the cult comedy franchise with a fourth-place debut of $4 millionfrom 2,760 theaters. The opening represents a modest start, but the film is expected to rely heavily on its established fanbase rather than broad mainstream appeal. How well it holds over the next several weekends will determine whether it can become another successful entry in the long-running comedy series.

Toy Story 5

Rounding out the Top 5 was Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5, which added another $3.9 million despite a 42% decline from last weekend. The animated sequel has now earned an outstanding $470.4 million domestically, continuing its impressive run after weeks in theaters. With families still turning out for Pixar’s latest adventure, the film remains one of Disney’s biggest theatrical performers of the year.
