The Voice wrapped its three-night Season 30 premiere event with “The Blind Auditions Part 3” on Wednesday, September 23. Queen Latifah, Riley Green, Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine continued listening for new singers to add to their teams, while host Carson Daly guided the night’s performances.
The Blind Auditions keep the artists’ voices at the center of the competition: coaches initially face away from the stage, turning their chairs when they want a performer on their team. If more than one coach turns, the artist ordinarily gets to choose. Season 30 adds a wrinkle with the one-use First In Button, which allows the coach who turned first in a multi-chair audition to claim that artist before the choice is made.
