The Traitors: New Blood Episode 1, “A New Dawn Is Rising,” brings the Emmy Award-winning competition series to NBC with an all-civilian cast. Hosted by Alan Cumming, the new season sends a group of everyday players to the Scottish Highlands, where a prize worth up to $250,000 is waiting for anyone who can survive the game.
Set in a castle deep in Scotland, the premiere begins a fresh version of the familiar psychological battle between the Faithful and the hidden Traitors. The civilians may arrive without reality-TV résumés, but the game remains the same: build the prize fund through missions, identify the saboteurs before it is too late and make it to the end.
What Is The Traitors: New Blood About?
Contestants work together on missions to add money to the prize fund, while a secret group of Traitors operates among them. The Faithful must identify and banish the Traitors before they are eliminated from the game one by one under the cover of darkness.
If every Traitor is banished, the remaining Faithful split the prize fund. If even one Traitor reaches the end, the Traitors take it all. The civilian format raises the stakes by putting new personalities and unfamiliar alliances at the center of the game.
Who Hosts The Traitors: New Blood?
Alan Cumming returns as host and executive producer. The Traitors: New Blood is produced by Studio Lambert, with Mike Cotton, Sam Rees-Jones, Rosie Franks, Jack Burgess, Stephen Lambert, Tim Harcourt and Doran Azouelos also serving as executive producers.
When Does The Traitors: New Blood Premiere?
“A New Dawn Is Rising” premieres Thursday, September 17, 2026, on NBC. Episodes stream on Peacock the following day.
The new season joins the earlier Peacock editions of The Traitors, but this time every competitor is a civilian entering the castle without an established reality-TV playbook.
