Ted and John are heading into animation. Peacock has released the first look at Ted: The Animated Series and set a Thursday, December 17, 2026 premiere. Eight episodes will arrive that day, with additional episodes planned for 2027.
The new comedy is a sequel to the films Ted and Ted 2, picking up 12 years after the second movie. Seth MacFarlane returns as the voice of Ted, while Mark Wahlberg reprises his role as John Bennett. Amanda Seyfried and Jessica Barth are also back from the films.
What Is Ted: The Animated Series About?
John and Ted now live next door to each other, have families of their own and work dead-end jobs. Growing older has done little to stop the longtime friends from encouraging each other’s worst ideas. The series follows their attempts to navigate marriage, parenting and adulthood while keeping their chaotic friendship intact.
The setting also makes the show distinct from Peacock’s live-action Ted series. That series looks back at John and Ted’s teenage years; the animated comedy moves their story forward after the films.
