Shemar Moore is officially returning as Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson.
STARZ has announced that it has acquired S.W.A.T. EXILES, the new spinoff of the long-running hit action drama S.W.A.T., with the series set to premiere Friday, September 25. New episodes will debut weekly on Fridays, streaming exclusively on the STARZ app and across all STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms.
Moore reprises his fan-favorite role as Sergeant Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson, but this time he’s facing an entirely new challenge. After stepping away from leading the legendary 20-David Squad, Hondo is called back into action to head an experimental S.W.A.T. unit made up of inexperienced, unpredictable, and unconventional recruits. Tasked with molding the group into an elite tactical team, Hondo must bridge a generational divide while proving that this unlikely squad has what it takes to protect Los Angeles—and save the future of the program that shaped his career.
“S.W.A.T. EXILES engages a deeply passionate fanbase that aligns strongly with our audience,” said Alison Hoffman, President of STARZ Networks. “We’re thrilled to join forces with Sony to be the first place U.S. fans can experience this thrilling new chapter in the franchise.”
The series also stars Ronen Rubenstein as Jude, Freddy Miyares as Ethan, Zyra Gorecki as Cassidy, Adain Bradley as Malik, and Lucy Barrett as Sammy, introducing a new generation of officers alongside Hondo.
S.W.A.T. EXILES joins an expanding 2026 STARZ lineup that includes the fifth and final season of POWER BOOK III: RAISING KANAN, the new crime drama FIGHTLAND, premiering July 31, and the highly anticipated third season of P-VALLEY later this year.
