Hawkins isn’t staying quiet for long.
Netflix has announced that Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 Season 2 will premiere September 17, 2026, bringing the Hawkins Investigators Club back for another animated adventure just months after the show’s first season debuted.
Netflix also revealed a new batch of Season 2 first-look photos, offering an early glimpse at the next supernatural mystery facing Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, Max and Nikki.
According to Netflix Tudum, the new season picks up immediately after the events of the Season 1 finale, when the Hawkins Investigators Club defeated the Horde Queen and prevented her from opening another gate to the Upside Down.
Unfortunately for Hawkins, normal never lasts very long.
What Is Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 Season 2 About?
Season 2 initially finds the group trying to return to everyday life.
Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, Max and Nikki are back to playing arcade games, tackling Hawkins Investigators Club missions and preparing for Valentine’s Day.
Then mysterious flowers begin appearing throughout Hawkins.
Showrunner Eric Robles reveals that the seemingly beautiful flowers contain a supernatural secret — a problem made considerably worse when Nikki and Max decide to sell them around town.
The flowers aren’t the only strange development.
Season 2 will also introduce mysterious ghostly apparitions and a swarm of creatures known as hate sprites, leaving the Hawkins Investigators Club racing to understand what’s happening before another gate to the Upside Down can be opened.
Season 2 Will Explore New Parts of Hawkins
The new mystery will take the group back to familiar Stranger Things locations, including Hawkins Middle School and the Palace Arcade.
But the animated series is also expanding the map.
One of the new locations will be a mine beneath Hawkins, giving the Hawkins Investigators Club another unexplored corner of town to investigate as the supernatural activity intensifies.
That ability to expand Hawkins without the physical limitations of live-action production has been one of the advantages of taking Stranger Things into animation.
Tales From ’85 takes place during the winter of 1985, between the events of Stranger Things Seasons 2 and 3, allowing the series to tell additional stories with the original Hawkins characters without changing the established timeline of the live-action series.
Who Is Returning for Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 Season 2?
The core voice cast returns for Season 2.
Brooklyn Davey Norstedt voices Eleven, with Luca Diaz as Mike, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max, Elisha “EJ” Williams as Lucas, Braxton Quinney as Dustin, Benjamin Plessala as Will and Odessa A’zion as Nikki Baxter.

The animated spinoff is led by showrunner Eric Robles, with Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer among the executive producers.
When Does Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 Season 2 Premiere?

The quick turnaround means fans won’t have to wait long after Season 1, which premiered April 23.
