Hosted by Antonio Sabato Jr., "Road to the Oscars" is an eight-episode series updated daily. It will cover the events leading up to the Academy Awards, including footage from pre-Oscar events, interviews and exclusive behind-the-scenes content.
The style headlines will be articulated by popular trend watcher Tom Julian, now entering his 13th year as fashion commentator. On Oscar.com, Julian was the first to chronicle the world of couture fashion on the red carpet of Hollywood's biggest night of the year. He will give fans an up-close-and-personal look into red carpet style and take fans back in time with the "Evolution of Style" page. Julian continues to act as Senior VP, Strategic Director of Trends for McCann Erickson.
New to Oscar.com this year will be a live blog during the show by humorist and Los Angeles Times columnist Joel Stein. Stein will be blogging live from the red carpet during arrivals and then backstage during the show with up-to-the minute commentary.
Do you have your Oscar speech planned but no one to give it to? Now fans can get into the Oscar spirit by uploading their own acceptance speeches on Oscar.com.
Other features include a "Predict the Winners" game that offer fans a chance to test their skills at Oscar predictions; an embeddable Oscar widget that fans can add to blogs, iGoogle, MyYahoo, Facebook, MySpace and other top social network sites, containing video from Oscar.com, a full list of nominees, the latest Oscar news and a trivia game; an enhanced Oscar mobile site that will provide all the content on Oscar.com along with alerts and additional trivia games; and the "Thank You Cam," where fans can see the first exclusive comments from the winners as they leave the stage with their Oscar statuette.
Users can also log on on Monday, February 25 to watch backstage interview footage with the winners of the 80th Annual Academy Awards.
The 80th Annual Academy Awards will be presented on Sunday, February 24, 2008, at the Kodak Theatre, and televised live by the ABC Television Network (5:00 p.m., PT / 8:00 p.m., ET), beginning with the arrivals show, "Oscar's Red Carpet 2008."
