In “License,” Matt is determined to prove he’s the superior driving instructor when he discovers Carter has been taking lessons — but the plan quickly derails when he learns his own license is expired. As Matt scrambles to fix the embarrassing oversight, Riley faces her own collision course as her work life and home life crash together. Struggling to keep both afloat, she finds herself stretched thin in ways she didn’t expect.
Now in its second season, Shifting Gears continues its heartfelt blend of family comedy and workplace chaos as Matt, a stubborn widower and classic car restoration shop owner, attempts to repair long-standing fractures with his daughter Riley and her kids. Starring Tim Allen, Kat Dennings, Seann William Scott, Daryl Chill Mitchell, Maxwell Simkins, and Barrett Margolis, the series delivers warmth, humor, and multi-generational friction.
