Long story short, when faced with Barb’s deportation to the Bahamas, Christine and Barb take an interesting approach to solving the problem.
While the show isn’t terribly inventive, and at times it’s predictable, none of that matters. The show is still one of the funniest on TV, because the whole cast (even adorable little Richie) is so great. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is funnier every time I see her; her Christine is constantly one step away from crossing the line to complete moron, and she handles it so well. Her relationships with Matthew (Hamish Linklater) and Barb (Wanda Sykes) are so fantastic. It’s like they’re always exasperated with her, but they would still do anything for her. The Richard and New Christine storyline is great in this episode, too, because it almost directly mirrors Christine and Barb, but Richard doesn’t do anything right.
Too many people are missing this show – hopefully in its new Wednesday at 8 time slot, more people will be able to find it and love it, because it really is fantastic.
